WHAT
WE DO

PROGRAMS & INITIATIVES.

At Josie’s House of Help, we believe meaningful support can look different at every stage of life. Our programs connect children, teens, families, graduating seniors, and older adults with resources, guidance, and opportunities designed to help them move forward.

From financial literacy and career preparation to food assistance, scholarships, and seasonal community support, we focus on meeting real needs with practical solutions. Through our programs and community partnerships, we’re creating pathways for individuals to feel supported, prepared, and empowered to thrive.

Dorm
Essentials

Dorm Essentials supports graduating high school seniors in Central Florida as they prepare for their next chapter. The program provides dorm supplies, scholarships assistance and resources to help ease some of the costs associated with transitioning into college. Dorm Essentials takes place annually on the first Saturday in June and also celebrates graduates with senior portraits.

Career
Ready

Career Ready helps teens ages 15–18 develop the skills and confidence they need to prepare for the workforce. Participants receive guidance on resume development, personal hygiene, professional attire, and interviewing through hands-on preparation and mock interviews. The goal is to help young people show up prepared and ready for their next opportunity.

Money
Rocks

Money Rocks helps young people build a stronger foundation for their financial future through practical financial literacy. Participants learn how to manage money, develop healthy saving habits, and make thoughtful financial decisions. The program also introduces financial planning skills that can be carried into adulthood.

Vocational Rehab

Josie’s House of Help connects eligible youth with Pre-Employment Transition Services designed to help them prepare for employment and greater independence. The program serves individuals ages 14–21 with documented disabilities in Orange and Seminole Counties.

Beacon
of Help & Hope

The Beacon of Help & Hope Food Distribution Program helps address food insecurity among children, youth, and senior citizens in underserved communities. Through access to nutritious food and essential resources, the program provides consistent support to individuals and families who need it most. Services include outreach to senior communities, including residents age 55 and older at Magnolia Senior Community.

Back 2 School & Christmas Giveaways

Through our partnership with Re-Imagine Communities, Josie’s House of Help supports children and families in Orange County through seasonal community initiatives throughout the year. Make It, Pack It, Take It helps students in grades K–12 prepare for the school year with backpacks, school supplies, hygiene items, and other essentials, while the Jingle Bells Bash provides holiday gifts and resources to families during the Christmas season.
